A great big dose of my truth!

Today's Holy Spirit Love Note:

Take every thought captive and make it obedient to Jesus. What does that really mean? It means you don’t have to believe the whisper that you’re too tired to choose to speak with love and kindness. It means you can choose to reject the thought that you’ll instead try again tomorrow. It means you are loved and adored and treasured and any word to the contrary that attempts to invade your mind can be rejected before it even takes root.

Because yes, I am always speaking, wooing you with my love, but not every thought that passes through your mind is of me or from me. Any thought that sounds critical or condemning or one that leads you away from my best for you is not of me and is to be taken captive.

How do you do that? One of the easiest ways is to bring the thought to me and ask me what my truth looks like. Crowd out the lies by shining the light of my truth on them but before you can do that, you need to notice. Notice the thought, consider its origin and then, if its not of me, give it a great big dose of my truth!

Noticing is more difficult when you’re tired which is why I remind you to rest. There are times when we might stay up late together but that’s not my default because I know how it leaves you vulnerable.

Instead, rest in me. Give yourself permission to move at the pace of my love and grace. You don’t need to cram in “just one more” activity or task. Yes, I’m inviting you to take action but not at any cost and sometimes, despite the world’s wisdom to the contrary, sometimes the very best thing you can do is push a task to tomorrow - or even the day after that!

Move with me, at my pace. Rest in me, with me. Flow with My Spirit and give yourself space and time to notice. Notice then give the thought to me. Taking what the enemy meant for evil and turning it to good!
