Childlike wonder and delight

Today's Holy Spirit Love Note:

When you explore life from within the loving arms of your Heavenly Dad, you open yourself up to a new level of faith. Faith like a child might not sound like something you want to aspire to. After all, you want to be mature in your faith, don’t you? But what if everything is back to front in the Kingdom?

The first shall be last and the last shall be first, remember? Childlike wonder and delight is a sign of maturity. It makes no sense at all from the world’s perspective but when you explore the world with the wide-eyed wonder of a child, you see me move in ways you might otherwise miss.

Embracing the gift in each new day, stepping into it with joy, expecting to be delighted because you’re with your Dad … it’s the very best way to live. And this is the invitation when you embrace  the reality of daily life with me.

I want to surprise and delight you. I want to show you wonderful new things, step into brilliant adventures. And I can only do this as much as you’re willing to let go of the outcome. When you hold too tightly on to everything in your life you stifle my ability to flow because I’m not going to force myself on you. Where is the love in that?

Instead, this is an invitation to live freely and lightly with me. Ask me questions and hear my heart. Take action together but without the angst and frustration that comes from needing to control every, single piece.

Consider how a child explores a new game or a random object she finds while out walking. What if life was a game? An exploration? An opportunity to learn and discover and take joy from doing so? How might that change things for you?
