Dancing in the dark with the blindfold on?

Today’s Holy Spirit Love Note:

You were created for connection, to be in relationship with me, with us. You are at the centre of an elaborate dance and you can’t yet see all the moves. Those times when life feels confusing, when you wonder “why?” or “how come?”, imagine you’re dancing in the dark with a blindfold on.

And other times when you still don’t really know what’s going on but you feel at least a little more at ease with the not knowing, that’s the time the blindfold has come off and you can make out some of the steps in the half light.

Even more importantly though know this … your knowing or not knowing, understanding or not understanding, doesn’t change the beauty of the dance. It might change how you experience the dance but it doesn’t change the movement, the flow, the love, delight, wonder and joy I feel as I dance with you, one step at a time.

You’re wasting your time, energy and emotions on the wrong question. What if you could simply accept that you’re not going to see all the steps and instead, embrace the adventure? What might that look like?

Yes, that’s going to sound like “blind faith” to some people. The world doesn’t like to embrace the not knowing, it rejects the idea of simply trusting me at my word, but you know me. You know I am for you, not against you. You know I am love and you know that you can trust me.

Hear my heart then when I tell you to stop trying to figure out the great mysteries of life. Paul said it first … more important than great understanding is one thing. Love. Let me share my heart with you. Let me share with you my heart for the people around you. Not everyone knows me yet and I want you to help change that. How? Love.
