It will get easier with practice

Today's Holy Spirit Love Note:

It’s time to get serious about how we spend our time together. Consider this … if I’m with you every moment of every day (and I am!) what does that mean for those times when you find yourself distracted by nonsense? There is so much I would love for us to do together and we’re only going to get to a fraction of it in this lifetime if you insist upon waging war with your scroll!

And no, I know it’s often not about arguing with someone or trying to persuade the internet that you’re right. Sometimes the real battle is simply with yourself. An idea pops in your head and you chase after it like it’s the most important thing to you in the world in that moment.

And yes, I understand that in that moment it feels vitally important to you. I’m not belittling your feelings and I’m absolutely not criticising your ideas. You have an incredible mind and those ideas are brilliant! 

What if you understood that in learning my best for processing each of those ideas, you’d actually get more time to explore and play with the very best of them instead of feeling like you’re forever behind?

Yes we’re talking about how we manage your time and yes, this is definitely something I’m interested in. I’m more practical than you ever give me credit for. And remember that I created you, knit you together in your mother’s womb.

Your mind is not an accident or a mistake. There’s nothing to fix here and I didn’t drop the ball when I wired your mind the way I did. There are incredible benefits to be had from your amazing mind! This is simply about growth and recognising that there is more than one way to explore every idea that saunters across your awareness.

Take every thought captive. Bring each idea to me, every single one yes, and ask me what we’re going to do with it. Ask, expecting an answer, act on what you hear and then rinse and repeat with the very next idea - and the one after that and the one after that. It will get easier with practice!
