Aches and groans are more than adequate

Today's Holy Spirit Love Note:

When you don’t know what to pray, when words feel inadequate, know that I am right there with you. When you lean your heart towards me, offering the little you feel you have, understand that I am in that moment. When all hope seems lost, when it’s the end and you don’t know how you will navigate the loss, turn to me. I will always help you find your way back to me. I am never far from you.

I understand that to hear this from me when you’re struggling almost sounds empty because you know I’ve not gone anywhere, you know I’m always with you, but sometimes you need a reminder.

Embrace the work of my Spirit in your life. Aches and groans are more than adequate. You never need to find the right words or carefully construct your sentences. Bring me everything you’re feeling, regardless of how messy you think it is. I’ve told you before … I’m not afraid of or offended by your mess!

I weep when you weep. Those people you care about are precious to me too, I love them even more than you do. Yes, really. I know that’s hard for you to imagine but just because you cannot fully understand my love does not make it any less so.

I am love. Let me love you in every moment of every day, even when it feels uncomfortable. You have so many questions, some of which you feel like I never answer, but I am answering in ways you don’t yet see or receive. 

Trust me. And when it feels hard to trust me, bring that to me too. Tell me what’s really going on in your mind. Stop bringing me a sanitised, neat version of you. I know you, hand-crafted you. You don’t need to hide from me. Be you, quirks and and foibles and eccentricities and all. I will not bless who you pretend to be. I want to bless you, the real you. It’s time to let me in.
