Nothing is off limits

Today’s Holy Spirit Love Note:

Those times when you think you don’t know what I’m saying, when it feels like it’s been a while since you heard anything of any great significance from me, take a deep breath and smile. Smile knowing that I am in this moment with you; I’m in every moment with you. There has never been a time when I wasn’t with you, active in your life for good.

The difference is that sometimes you don’t intentionally allow space for pausing and hearing what’s on my heart. Life is busy, you have things to do that can feel like they get in the way of us spending time together. Guess what? Some seasons are busy and that’s okay. I’m with you in all of it. I never leave, you, never forsake you.

Picking up our conversation is as easy as saying hello. You don’t need to jump through hoops or listen to fifteen instrumental worship songs before I’ll deign to speak to you. I am always speaking to you, always excited and eager to do all of life with you.

Reject the lie that it’s hard to hear from me. Seek me and you will find me. You simply need to want to hear from me. And why wouldn’t you want that? What are you afraid of? If there’s something you’re uneasy about sharing with me, let’s start with that.

Remembering that every piece you’re reluctant to bring to me, I know about it all already. Nothing you share with me will shock me or take me by surprise. And I love you and I’m not going to force you to talk to me about things if you don’t want to.

Love doesn’t coerce or manipulate. That’s simply not how I operate. Instead, I simply invite you to bring me everything that’s on your heart. You can share anything with me and I love it when you do so. Nothing is off limits.
