What's a good question?

Today's Holy Spirit Love Note:

The answer is only as powerful as the question. Ask me good questions - ask, expecting an answer - and you’ll hear a good answer in reply. Asking me any question is wonderful because it gives me permission to speak into your life.

I’m going after powerful questions today though with the expectation that you will hear a powerful reply in return.

What’s a good question? One that is honest about what’s on your mind. What are you curious about? Concerned about? Feeling uncertain about? Ask me about all of those things. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again … there is nothing you can’t talk to me about. Nothing is off limits!

Let me help you to ask without an expectation of the answer because I love to surprise and delight you. If you ask me a question with the answer already set in your mind, you’re going to find it harder to hear my creative best for you.

And remember too, those times when you don’t know what to say, when you don’t know where to start or what to ask, allow me to first give you the questions. Ask me what to ask me. That sounds a little bit like a mind puzzle, or it would be if you were asking it of another human, but I can give you powerful questions and powerful answers if you let me.

Don’t think of this as an interrogation. This is a conversation and sometimes when you ask me a question, I’m going to ask you what you think or what you’d like. You didn’t hear me wrong when you hear that reply. I’m training you in the art of conversation so we can build a genuine, solid relationship.

Real relationships, like the conversation you have with your best friend, include lots of back and forth, hearing each other’s hearts and being open and honest. Nothing is off limits. No thing. Ever!
