What’s your obsession with speed? What about the beauty of slowing down and simply enjoying this moment with me? I know you think you have lots of things to do and you want to be efficient and not waste time but efficiency at what cost? What if I don’t want you to race ahead and get everything done? What if there’s a deeper invitation you miss in your quest to get lots done?
I’m not saying that your planning is futile but I’m inviting you to be flexible. This is not about powering through your to-do list, getting things done at any cost. Where’s the space for conversation when you keep your head down and power through? And what about fresh air and the joy of being outside? Yes, there is much that I want to explore with you but that’s not found in a completed to-do list!
When you come to me with an open heart, there is nothing that we can’t do. And yes, sometimes you feel like you need to intentionally create that level of spaciousness, but ask me what today together looks like.
Ask, expecting me to answer, and let me help you move forward with what you hear. I really am doing all the heavy lifting here. You can breathe and rest in me, trusting that I know what I’m doing and I won’t steer you wrong.
“Those who wait upon the Lord will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31 BSB
